Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have joined Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for Inter Milan’s star striker Mauro Icardi, according to reports by TalkSport.

The Bavarian giants are known to be keen to sign another forward to compete with Polish superstar Robert Lewandowski and Inter Milan’s top scorer is thought to be top of their list.

Arsenal and Chelsea on the other hand have both held a long-term interest in the Argentina international, with both sides keen to strengthen their options at centre-forward.

Icardi, who is the Nerazzurri’s captain, has been in fine form again this season finding the net 11 times and scored a memorable hat-trick against city rivals AC in the Derby Della Madonnina recently.

The 24-year-old ex-Barcelona youth player has scored 82 goals in 135 games since his arrival at the San Siro from Sampdoria and has impressed not only with his clinical finishing, but also his all-round footballing ability.

Having spent several years in the international wilderness the talented front-man is now in favour with current Argentina manager Jorge Sampaoli and is expected to play an integral part in La Albiceleste’s World Cup campaign in Russia this summer.

Whichever club is successful in their pursuit of Icardi, they will more than likely have to pay a substantial transfer fee, although they will be getting a top-class striker who pretty much guarantees goals.
