After another brilliant weekend of Premier League action, it’s time to pick our Premier League team of the week …
1.Butland – Superb as his side held out for a famous victory against Arsenal. Looks to be back to his very best.
2.Oxlade-Chamberlain – Despite his side losing this weekend the young England-international was their best player, putting in a fantastic performance full of pace and power from right-wing back.
4.Christensen – Recovered from a nervy start to put in a hugely composed performance for his side. Cleared and blocked the ball on numerous occasssions as Spurs plied on the pressure.
5.Schindler – The former Germany U21 international was a rock at the back as his side held onto a 1-0 win against Newcastle.
6.Alonso – A matchwinning performance from the Spanish defender. His second goal may have been a little lucky, but his first was simply unstoppable, a truly world-class free-kick.
7.Mahrez – The mercurial Algerian was back to his very best this weekend, twisting defenders inside and out as Leicester recorded a 2-0 over Brighton. If he does leave The Foxes let’s hope it for another Premier League club.
8.Mooy – A man of the match performance by the hugely impressive Aussie midfielder. A stunning match-winning strike and the most distance covered, proving that he is taking the move up from the Championship to the Premier League in his stride.
6.Dembele – Yet another midfield display that oozed intelligence and skill. Spurs best player.
11.Mkhitaryan – Really starting to pull the strings in this Manchester United team after a tough first season with The Reds, two more assists to make it four in two games so far this term.
9.Chicarito – Showed West Ham’s fans what to expect going forward with two instinctive penalty box strikes. Unlucky to be on losing team.
10.Jese – Scored the winner and put in a good overall performer on his Stoke debut, the perfect start to his Premier League career.
