Our resident West Ham fan and PS Football Podcast star Scotty Bowman has picked 10 of the Hammers greatest Premier League goals. He’s selected a brilliant mix of strikes, there’s penalties, moments of magic and wonder strikes. Sit back and enjoy some of the finest goal ever scored by players wearing the famous Claret and Blue!

John Moncur v Bradford City, 1999/00

A topsy turvey game that saw West Ham 4-2 behind at one point, but the Irons clawed it back to win an exciting game 5-4. A remarkable game all round which also included this forgotten peach from Hammers hero, John Moncur.

Ian Pearce v Tottenham Hotspur, 2001/02

Games against Spurs are always hotly contested affairs and they’re euphoric when they end with a happy ending. Down 1-0 in the dying minutes of the game at White Hart Lane, the ball falls perfectly for Ian Pearce to unleash a rocket and send the travelling support home happy.

Trevor Sinclair v Charlton Athletic, 2000/01

Trevor Sinclair was a Hammers hero who always had the ability to score cracking goals, but he’s probably more famous for the cross for Di Canio’s scissor-kick against Wimbledon. However Sinclair can’t be overlooked and this 25 yard volley against Charlton Athletic absolutely deserves to be on the list.

Julian Dicks v Tottenham Hotspur, 1996/97

When you think of how a penalty should be taken, you cannot look beyond Julian Dicks. Dick’s was our designated penalty taker during his two-spells with the club and in the below clip against Spurs during out 4-3 win at the Boleyn Ground, you can see why.

Dean Ashton v Manchester City 2005/06

During West Ham’s march to the 2006 FA Cup Final, January Signing Dean Ashton slotted into the side brilliantly and looked as if he’d be a big part of an improving West Ham team. ‘Deano’ scored several memorable goals, but his goal in the FA Cup quarter final at the now Etihad stadium ranks highly.

Dimitri Payet v Manchester United, 2015/16

Dimitri Payet may have left West Ham under a cloud, but he did leave us with some fine memories both home and away, during our final year at Upton Park. He scored and assisted with some cracking efforts, and his freekick that sailed past David De Gea in the FA Cup quarter final at Old Trafford is arguably his most memorable.

Yossie Benayoun v Fulham, 2005/06

Yossie Benayoun was much loved during his time at West Ham and it was the Israeli’s comfort on the ball and eye for the spectacular that made him a hero to supporters during in his first spell at the club. One of his memorable moments came in the same game Anton Ferdinand scored his own sublime effort, but Yossi’s cheeky chip from outside the 18 yard box showed the class he possessed.

Paolo Di Canio v Chelsea, 2002/03

A heart breaking season for all West Ham fans as we fell outside the top-flight for the first time in a decade with a record 42 points. There wasn’t too much to cheer that season, but West Ham’s 3-2 over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in September saw Di Canio score this sublime volley from 25 yards out.

Andy Carroll v Crystal Palace, 2016/17

Our opening season at the London Stadium would probably be described as more miss than hit, but there were moments that lifted fans out of their seats and Andy Carroll’s thunderous overhead kick against Crystal Palace will take a lifetime before it’s eclipsed.

Paolo Di Canio v Wimbledon 1999/2000

Probably the most televised West Ham goal of all time. Paolo Di Canio’s scissor kick against Wimbleon will speak for itself. Breath taking!
