Arsenal are set to replace long-term youth scout Steve Rowley with Borussia Dortmund’s highly sought after talent spotter Sven Mislintat, according to reports on ESPN.

The 45-year-old German has been Dortmund’s chief scout since 2009 and has been responsible for the club signing Mat Hummels, Robert Lewandowski, Shinji Kagawa, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele.

These players amongst many others all went on to play a massive role in the Bundesliga sides’ success over the last decade and in many cases where then sold on at a massive profit.

Such has been Mislintat’s success in spotting and nurturing young talent that he has been nicknamed ”Diamond Eye,” in the international scouting community.

Many other top club’s have become so impressed by his ability to unearth hidden gems that as soon as word goes round that he is watching a player they are now sending their own scouts to monitor these players straight away.

Mislintat has become a influential figure at the Westfalenstadion and his falling out with former coach Thomas Tuchel is said to have played a major role in the downfall of the German coach’s reign as Dortmund manager.

In fact, when Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munch tried to steal the super scout away in the past Dortmund’s CEO Michael Zorc stated that he would rather lose any key member of his sides’ playing staff then lose Mislintat such is his value to the club.

If Arsenal do manage to pull this deal off it will go down as a major coup for the London club that would no doubt have long-term benefits for years to come.
