Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has admitted in an interview with the London Evening Standard, that his side are low on confidence ahead of this weekend’s crucial Premier League fixture against Watford.

“The mood at the moment is not the best.”

“But the reality is that we have gone three games without a win and we will try to get back to winning ways on Saturday.”

“It’s true that we are not in our best moment.” Said the Spain international.

The Blues have already lost three Premier League games so far this term, which is the same number of defeats they accumulated in the whole of last year’s title winning campaign.

It really is becoming hard to shake the feeling that something just isn’t right at Stamford Bridge at the moment. Even during pre-season Conte cut a frustrated figure as he complained about the club’s hierarchy and their inability to strengthen his squad as he deemed appropriate, considering the additional pressures of Champions League football.

Consistent reports of the Italian coach’s desire to return to his homeland and this week’s revelation that several players are unhappy with his training methods will have done little to lift the mood around the club.

Chelsea’s mounting injury list is hardly helping matters either with N’Golo Kante, Danny Drinkwater and Victor Moses all definitely ruled out of this weekend’s fixture. Meanwhile David Luiz and Tiémoué Bakayoko are both struggling with muscle injuries and will face late fitness tests.

Saturday’s visitors to Stamford Bridge, Watford, are absolutely flying at the moment after beating Arsenal 2-1 in their last game. Marco Silva continues to impress with The Hornets and his side have only lost one fixture in the league so far this season.

Facing such an in-form Watford team is probably far from the ideal fixture Conte and his injury depleted squad would have liked to have after a draining 3-3 draw against Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Although, we are only eight games into this Premier League campaign it really isn’t too much of an exaggeration to say that Saturday games is a must win for Chelsea, if they don’t pick up all three points and the Manchester clubs, as expected do, Conte’s team’s defence of their Premier League title could be all but over before the end of October.
