Bournemouth v Chelsea Player Ratings

Chelsea hammered Bournemouth 1-0 if that makes sense. See how the players rated below…

Bournemouth

Begovic 7.5

Seemed to have eight arms at times but then was beaten at his near post for the winner. Sickened.

Francis 6

Had a lot to do and did most of it, but was at fault for Hazard’s goal, played a decent cross in at the end as Bournemouth pushed for an equaliser.

S Cook 7

Got his body in the way to block on a number of occasions but it was last ditch stuff a lot of the time

Ake 7

Worked hard in keeping Chelsea down to one, was probably lucky to have Begovic behind him

A Smith 6

Defensively had a lot to deal with but set up Bournemouth’s best chance with a whipped cross for Pugh.

L Cook 6

Worked hard to contain Chelsea’s midfield with some success early on but was eventually over run. Had a go late on but couldn’t beat Courtois.

Surman 6

Failed to make much of an impact as Chelsea were in so much control.

Daniels 5

Was mugged by Bakayoko as the game entered the final 10 minutes and Chelsea almost doubled their lead from it. Summed up his game really.

Stanislas 5

Anonymous.

Afobe 6

Ran hard and did what he could with the limited time he got on the ball until he was withdrawn with a muscle injury.

Defoe 5

Give him the ball and he’ll score, he didn’t get the ball and didn’t seem to do anything really.

Subs:

Pugh 5

Should have done better with a decent headed chance but otherwise didn’t contribute much/

Wilson N/A

Ibe 5

A body on the pitch, got stuck in but not much else.

Chelsea

Courtois 6

Had very little to do but made a decent save in the second half when called upon.

Azpilicueta 8

Has been a little below par recently but this was an excellent display from the Spanish defender. Defended well and got on the ball to help going forward too.

Luiz 7

The stereotypical Luiz performance. Played some superb passes, made some errors but overall played well.

Rudiger 7

Solid game from the new signing. Looked comfortable on the ball and was never caught out of position.

Zappacosta 6

Struggled to make much of an impact, made some dodgy decisions but made a good block late in the game

Fabregas 6.5

Also struggled to make an impact but when Bournemouth were chasing the game his control and calmness in possession was impressive.

Bakayoko 7

Ran himself ragged and tackled well. Some of his passing was a little erratic.

Alonso 6

Didn’t have much to do defensively but didn’t contribute much going forward either.

Pedro 7.5

Always looked dangerous, combined well with the other Chelsea forwards, maybe should have done better when he blazed over but generally, he played really well.

Morata 6.5

Not the best day at the office for the Spanish hit-man but he was there when it mattered when he set up Hazard.

Hazard 9

Had to work so hard early in the game as he was surrounded by Bournemouth players whenever he got near the ball but managed to find space as the game went on and of course was on hand to slam home the winner for his team.

S

ubs:

Drinkwater 6

Brought on to shore things up. Did his job with little fuss. A handy Premier League debut for the club.

Willian N/A

Batshuayi 6

Helped to kill the game
