Manchester United are leading the chase to sign Celtic starlets Kieran Tierney and Moussa Dembele, according to reports in The Mirror.

Both players have been instrumental in the Scottish side going unbeaten domestically since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers as manager in the summer of 2016.

20-year-old Tierney, who is a product of Celtic’s academy, has long been rated as one of Europe’s best young left-backs and as the left side of defence has been something of a problem area for Jose Mourinho of late, United’s interest in the youngster definitely makes sense.

The Old Trafford club will face some serious competition however, with up to 17 Premier League clubs said to have sent representatives to Celtic Park earlier this week for The Hoops’ Champions League tie against Bayern Munich.

France U21 international Dembele joined Celtic in June 2016 from Championship side Fulham and instantly made himself a hero to the Celtic Park faithful by scoring a hat-trick against Old Firm rivals Rangers early in his career North of the border. In total the talented striker has netted 28 goals in 58 games for the Scottish side.

Both players have shown huge potential already in their fledgling careers and played crucial roles in Celtic winning a domestic treble last season. They may also find it easier to settle in to life in Manchester in comparison with other young players from the continent.

For now United are said to be favorites for both their signatures, although if they both keep performing to the levels they have been recently, they won’t come cheap.
