Manchester City Line Up Move For Real Madrid Midfielder

Pep Guardiola looks set to make a move for Real Madrid’s attacking midfielder Isco, according to reports in the Daily Express.

The Spanish international has been linked with a number of Premier League over the past few years as he struggled to find a place in Zinedine Zidane’s team but injuries to Gareth Bale gave him an opportunity that he grabbed with both hands.

He made thirty appearances last season, helping Madrid to an impressive La Liga and Champions League double and scored in a Man-of-the-match performance as the Spanish side beat Manchester United to win the UEFA Super Cup.

Isco was rewarded for his efforts with a new contract that would take him through to 2022 and he is now an integral part of Madrid’s best starting XI, so it would take a huge bid for Manchester City to prise him away for the Spanish capital but money isn’t much of a problem for Pep Guardiola.

Manchester City are not short of attacking options but with David Silva set to turn 32 in January, Guardiola might view his 25 year old compatriot as an ideal replacement or at least another option as the Blues look to compete for trophies on four fronts.
