Arsenal v Spurs – Player Ratings

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusSHARE

Arsenal out fought and out played a surprisingly poor Spurs side at the Emirates earlier today as Arsene Wenger’s men ran out deserved 2-0 winners in the latest instalment of the North London Derby. Let’s see how the players rated …

Cech 7

One good save late on from Dier. Apart from that a quiet day for the experienced shot stopper.

Bellerin 8

Put in a huge shift covering a massive amount of ground up and down the right flank.

Mustafi 8

Solid defensively and scored the opener with a peach of a header.

Koscielny 8

As always when the Frenchman plays well so do Arsenal.

Monreal 7

Performed his defensive duties with a minimum of fuss and passed the ball out well from the back at times.

Kolasinac 8

A beast. Another top display by the bargain of the season.

Xhaka 6

A bit rash in the tackle as usual but didn’t give the ball away in the run up to a opposition goal so I suppose thats an improvement of sorts.

Ramsey 8

Continued his excellent form since the embarrassment of the defeat against Liverpool. His hard work in the centre of the park gave Arsenal’s forward players the platform to hurt Spurs.

Ozil 9 ( MOTM )

Defied his critics with probably his best display in a big game for the Gunners. Worked his socks off and was involved in almost everything positive his team did.

Sanchez 8

His energy and skill caused Spurs problem all day long. Took his goal well.

Lacazette 7

Excellent movement and contributed with an assist for his sides second.

Subs

Iwobi 7

His fresh legs caused problems for Spurs tiring defence and probably should have got himself on the scoresheet with a couple of half chances that came his way.

Coquelin 7

Shored things up in the centre of the park as the match entered the closing stages.

Spurs

Lloris 6

No chance with the first goal but didn’t cover himself in glory for the second.

Trippier 7

Didn’t get the chance to put in many of his trademark crosses. Ok defensively.

Dier 6

Started in a sloppy fashion and struggled to get back on track.

Verthongen 6

A surprisingly nervy display from the normally commanding Belgian.

Sanchez 7

Really unlucky to concede a free-kick in the run up to Arsenal’s opener. Probably the best of a bad bunch in terms of Spurs central defenders.

Davies 7

One of the few men in white to emerge from the game with any credit, defended well and put in a couple of excellent crosses.

Dembele 6

Decent on the ball but couldn’t get near Ramsey at times.

Sissoko 4

Hard to see why Poch keeps picking him, put in his usual headless chicken like performance.

Eriksen 5

Denmark’s hero in midweek was anonymous today.

Alli 5

Has been a mix of brilliant or frustrating for most of this season, he was very much the latter today.

Kane 6

Not fully fit and it was painstakingly obvious. Needs a rest for a couple of weeks by the looks of it.

Subs

Son 6

Looked lively but couldn’t get the goal his team needed to get back into the game.

Winks 6

Neat and tidy in possession without ever looking like hurting Arsenal.

Llorente 5

Not for the first time this season brought on to make a difference late on, but this team just doesn’t seem to be set up to play to his strengths.
